Vinyasa Yoga and Hoop Vinyasa:

As a vinyasa yoga teacher, Jewels choreographs long and playful sequences, emphasizing body awareness to promote alignment and balance. Over several years, her yoga practice evolved from a "month on, month off" flirtation to an integral part of life, and she enjoys helping students find a balance between a challenging physical practice with a calming mental environment. In addition, Jewels is one of the founders and developers of Hoop Vinyasa, an exciting new fusion of hula hoop dance and vinyasa yoga. Jewels completed her yoga teacher training at Sankalpah Yoga Studio with Isaac Pena, Jude English, and Mary Dana Abbott, and has since become a mentor to teacher trainees there. She was recently included in Yoga Sleuth’s blog of NYC’s best yoga classes. She is honored to teach at Sankalpah and Om Factory, two beloved New York City studios. She is available for private lessons and workshops; please click here for her current class schedule, and click here for upcoming Hoop Vinyasa playshops.

Jewels is an experienced circus arts performer and instructor, specializing in hula hoop, flag, and fire performance (fire tools include hoop, fans, ring, dart, poi, staff, and orb). Jewels has taught hoop dance to adults and children in a variety of formal and informal settings, and has performed in venues ranging from nightclubs to garden parties. She has performed and taught as part of the NYC Sparkworks fire troupe and the Groovehoops hoop troupe, and has been a guest instructor at the Wildfire Spinning Arts Retreat.
